These editorial guidelines explain the standards behind every coloring page and article on Sketchy Colors: how we create our pages, how we check them, and what you can expect from the content on this site. Our goal is simple – free printables that are genuinely useful, safe for children, and ready to print without hassle.
Who Is Responsible for Our Content
Sketchy Colors is an independent website. The same small team chooses what to make, creates it, reviews it, and prepares it for download. That means one consistent standard applies across the whole library, and there is a real person behind the pages you print – not an automated feed left to run on its own.
How Our Pages Are Created
We create our coloring page designs using digital illustration and AI-assisted tools, and every page is then reviewed and refined by a person before it is published. Our Quality Standards
Before a page goes live, we check that it meets a clear set of standards:
- Clean, closed outlines that are easy to color inside.
- Open spaces sized for crayons, colored pencils, and markers.
- No broken lines, stray marks, or confusing details left over from the design process.
- A file that prints clearly at standard sizes on a home printer.
- A title and description that honestly match what is on the page.
If a page does not meet these standards, we fix it or leave it out.
Accuracy and Honesty
We aim to describe every page and write every article truthfully. When we share tips – for example, in our How to Print Our Coloring Pages guide – we base them on how printing and coloring actually work, not on filler written to fill space. If we ever get something wrong, we want to correct it.
Child-Appropriate Content
Our pages are made for children and families, so we keep the content age-appropriate. We review designs to make sure they are suitable for kids and free of anything unsuitable for a young audience.
Characters, Themes, and Intellectual Property
Some pages feature familiar characters, names, or themes. Those names and rights belong to their owners. We prepare these pages independently and are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any rights holder. Our pages are free for personal and classroom use and are not for resale or redistribution – see our Licensing Policy for details. Reviewing and Updating Our Library
A good collection should get better over time, not just bigger. We revisit older pages and articles to improve the artwork, clean up files, and rewrite content so it stays clear and useful. Standards change, and we update our pages to keep up.
Corrections and Feedback
If you spot a mistake – a broken line, an unclear description, a page that does not print correctly, or anything else – please tell us through our Contact page. We read what visitors send and use it to improve the site.
Free and Open Access
Everything on Sketchy Colors is free. There is no paywall, no account, and no email required to download and print. We want the pages to be easy to reach for parents, teachers, and kids everywhere.
